Department of Pharmaceutical Botany

One of the departments of Pharmacy, and it is the science that examines medicinal plants, drugs obtained from medicinal plants and the effects of these drugs. Pharmaceutical Botany; is a multidisciplinary field of study that is closely related to fields of science such as pharmacognosy, botany, anatomy, physiology, ecology, biochemistry, pharmacology, and ethnomedicine. Pharmaceutical Botany course is given to Pharmacy students in one semester.

Ankara Medipol University, Faculty of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmaceutical Botany – Research Areas:

• Nomenclature, classification and identification of medicinal plants.
• Determination of biological activities of the plant.
• Recording the medicinal uses of plants by the public through ethnobotanical studies and determining the effectiveness of plants with ethnobotanical uses using scientific methods.
• Systematic, morphological, anatomical, molecular and chemical study of medicinal and poisonous plants.
