Department of Pharmacology

Pharmacology, one of the main branches of the pharmacy curriculum, is the science that examines drugs, their mechanism of action and their use. Pharmacology is a multidisciplinary field of study that is closely related to fields of science such as Pharmacognosy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, and Clinical Pharmacy. The Department of Pharmacology gives Pharmacology course to Pharmacy students in three semesters.

• To investigate the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic parameters and the effects of these parameters on the effect of the drug and the systems in our body.
• To study the nature and sources of the drug, to explain the importance of the route of administration, the way of administration and the dose. In addition, to make the pharmacological classification of drugs, to examine the mechanism of action.
