Mission, Vision and Core Values:
The mission of the Psychology Department is to train productive, responsible and virtuous colleagues who can think critically, solve problems, have developed leadership skills, can take initiative, have high communication ability, and can transform acquired theoretical knowledge into practice with high competence, and to contribute to the world of science and society with high-level academic and scientific research and publications in accordance with the programs within its structure.
The vision of the Psychology Department is to be a department that produces original studies related to its field, is recognized in national and international environments with its academic reputation and competence, is at high levels in rankings that show scientific quality, is consulted when related plans and policies are created, and carries the pride of being a part of Ankara Medipol University.

Promotional Contents:
An individual who receives psychology education should have basic knowledge of various fields of psychology, the capacity to examine psychological concepts in depth when necessary, and a solid ethical infrastructure to instrumentalize these for the benefit of society.
In the psychology department, our students are provided with an education that includes various theories, methods and application areas of psychology. This education lasts 4 years and covers 8 semesters. During this period, our students will take theoretical and practice-oriented courses related to the profession. In addition, they will have the opportunity to take elective courses that support their academic development. At the end of the education, our students will have mastery of different psychological approaches and will be able to become well-equipped in many related fields. After graduation, our students who meet the necessary conditions can continue their academic development in graduate programs.
Fields of Work of Psychologists:
Our graduates can take part in the following jobs or positions from the moment they graduate:
Public, university and foundation hospitals, prisons, nursing homes, elderly care centers, military institutions, municipalities, governorships, measurement-evaluation centers, psychotechnical laboratories and community mental health centers.
Our department graduates have diploma equivalency in many countries of the world and can easily find jobs. In addition, after meeting the necessary conditions for graduate education (e.g., ALES, Foreign Language), they can continue their academic education.
Psychology Department Education:
Education is provided in Clinical Psychology, Social or Community Psychology, Educational Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Sports Psychology, Experimental/Cognitive Psychology, Child and Adolescent Psychology, Organizational Psychology and other fields.
In addition to theoretical education, they can improve their practical skills in application laboratories and in Health Research and Application hospitals with which protocols have been signed.
The undergraduate program in our department consists of courses totaling 240 ECTS, including common compulsory, compulsory and elective courses. Elective courses constitute at least 25% of the program.
Department Facilities:
- Number of Academic Staff: There are 3 professors, 3 associate professors, 10 assistant professors, 2 lecturers and 4 research assistants in our department.
- Graduate Education Opportunities: There are two thesis-based Master's Programs in Clinical Psychology and Social Psychology in our department. In addition, efforts to open a Clinical Psychology doctoral program are ongoing.
- Classroom and Laboratory Facilities: Our classrooms are equipped with smart boards and projection devices in accordance with today's technology.
- Computer Laboratories: There is a computer laboratory consisting of 30 computers.
- Seminar Halls: There is one meeting and seminar hall.
- Library: The Central Library of Ankara Medipol University is utilized.
- Social and Sports Activities, Clubs and Communities: Our students can benefit from social, sports, cultural, counseling and guidance activities provided by the Health, Culture and Sports Department of Ankara Medipol University.
- Cafeteria and Dining Facilities: The Nutrition Unit of the Health, Culture and Sports Department organizes lunch services for all students of our University. Considering the characteristics of the student group who want to benefit from the dining hall service of our school, daily menus are prepared in accordance with sufficient and balanced nutrition principles that meet energy needs and according to seasonal characteristics.
- Erasmus: Within the framework of European Union Socrates/Erasmus student exchange programs, mutual agreement studies with various universities are ongoing.
Laboratories: There are application laboratories in the subfields of Cognitive (2), Social (1), Developmental (1) and Clinical Psychology (1). There is also a therapy interview (and evaluation) room and a playroom for play therapy applications.
