COST STSM Success of Our Department's Faculty Member

Bölümümüz Öğretim Elemanının COST STSM Başarısı
Başlangıç Tarihi
06.08.2026

Assist. Prof. Betül ÇİLEK TATAR, a faculty member of our department, has successfully completed a Short-Term Scientific Mission (STSM) supported under COST Action CA24111 – European Network for Valorizing Food Processing Waste into Sustainable Fibers.

Her application was awarded a grant of 2,000 euros for research hosted by Nottingham Trent University (United Kingdom) and carried out between 20 and 28 July 2026.

The research focused on converting brewer's spent grain, a by-product of beer production, into sustainable and functional dietary fibres, evaluating the structural and functional properties of the resulting fibres, and examining their applicability in a model bakery (cake) product. The study contributes to sustainable approaches for transforming food processing by-products into value-added ingredients, while also making a significant contribution to the development of international academic collaboration.

We congratulate our faculty member Assist. Prof. Betül ÇİLEK TATAR on this international academic achievement and wish her continued success in her scientific work.
