Medical Education and Specialty Training in Germany

The program will feature presentations sharing detailed information on medical education and specialty training in Germany, followed by an interactive Q&A session. Dr. med. Şeyma Osmanlıoğlu: Having completed her primary, secondary and high school education in Türkiye, Dr. Osmanlıoğlu graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of Georg August University in 2010. She completed her doctorate in neurology at Georg August University and her specialty training in obstetrics and gynecology at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf. She received training in Assisted Reproductive Treatment and Clinical Practice at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine. After briefly working as an obstetrician and gynecologist in Türkiye, Dr. Osmanlıoğlu practiced at Helios Mariahilf Klinik Hamburg until last year. In addition to endoscopic surgery and reproductive endocrinology and surgery, Dr. Osmanlıoğlu has also worked in the fields of breast cancer and breast surgery. For the past year, she has been serving as Head of the Department of Medical Education at the AMU Faculty of Medicine.   Ersin Tezel: Born in Germany, Tezel graduated from BUGH Wuppertal University in 2002 and then completed 3 years of advanced training in Cologne. In 2005, he worked as an instructor at Internationaler Bund Wesseling. In 2007, he founded and developed the Healthcare Sector division at CIP Citypersonalbüro from the ground up. Since 2008, he has established consultancy companies for physicians. He provides individual management services through two companies: CEP Danışmanlık in Türkiye and Stetho GmbH in Germany. In addition, he serves as a judge at the 4th Higher Criminal Court in Cologne.

Through this program, AMU Faculty of Medicine students will:

• Be able to plan their careers more effectively,
• Have the opportunity to learn about medical education in different countries,
• Gain knowledge about specialty training in Germany,
• Have the opportunity to compare specialty training in Türkiye with that of another country,
• Gain detailed knowledge of the required steps should they wish to continue their careers in Germany,

They will also be able to put their questions on the subject directly to experts and receive answers from the right source without any barriers.
