Health Law (Non-Thesis)

The multifaceted transformation taking place in healthcare services today, together with increasing technological and economic advances in medicine, has inevitably given rise to new legal issues that call for solutions. These developments are reflected in the field of law in many different ways, just as they are in medicine. In Türkiye, too, amendments to existing legislation and new regulations in the field of health law in recent years have given health law matters an increasingly important place within the core body of legislation. Newly emerging areas such as health and medical law in particular, as well as pharmaceutical law, medical device law, health tourism, biolaw and medical informatics, have rapidly become part of legal practice. As a result of these developments, it has become necessary to recognize health law as a field requiring specialization, with its own distinct doctrine, terminology and practice.

The Health Law Non-Thesis Master's Program, to be offered within the Graduate School of Social Sciences of Ankara Medipol University, aims to fill a significant gap in the field of health law and ethics in Türkiye through an original and up-to-date perspective on health law and a team of specialized academic legal scholars. The program will make important contributions to supporting academic/scientific publications and educational activities in health law in Türkiye in line with international standards, to shaping policies in this field, and to implementing fundamental legal regulations.

Taking current needs and developments into account, the program's curriculum has been designed to cover both the theoretical and practical aspects of health law. In this context, one of its foremost goals is to produce significant scholarly studies and works in the various areas of health law. The program has been designed for students who aim to specialize in health law, conduct research and academic work, develop practical solutions, expand their existing work into publications, and develop or take part in national and international projects.

While offering students the opportunity to advance their academic careers, the Health Law Non-Thesis Master's Program also aims to train experts who will contribute to the practice of health law and the development of health policies. Graduates who successfully complete the program will be qualified to hold a variety of positions in the healthcare sector and the legal field.
