ANKARA MEDIPOL UNIVERSITY PRIVACY NOTICE ON THE PROTECTION AND PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA

Various personal data belonging to the stakeholders of Ankara Medipol University are processed, in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK), by Ankara Medipol University, which operates within the framework of the Higher Education Law, in its capacity as data controller. The purpose, method and transfer of the processing of personal data are explained below. 
 
Purpose of processing your personal data: 
 
As a higher education institution, Ankara Medipol University collects and processes personal data in line with its operational purposes, primarily in connection with its education, teaching and scientific research activities. In processing personal data, compliance with the conditions set out in Articles 5 and 6 of the KVKK is ensured, with due regard for the personal rights and freedoms provided for in the Constitution, personal privacy, compliance with the law, respect for individual values/preferences and, where necessary, the benefit of the individual subject to their consent. 
 
Accordingly, personal data are collected and processed in the following cases, to the extent required by the relevant activity. 
 
•    For the purpose of sustaining education and teaching activities, carrying out assessment and evaluation and tracking academic success, and retaining the records required by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK)  
•    Concerning the administrative and academic staff of Ankara Medipol University and the employees of subcontractor companies providing services, for operational purposes  
•    Concerning students, staff and short-term visitors residing in dormitories, staff housing, social facilities and similar places on Ankara Medipol University campuses, for the purpose of meeting their essential needs 
•    From Ankara Medipol University students studying and residing on Ankara Medipol University campuses, for the purpose of providing them with emergency, curative and preventive healthcare services 
•    Concerning visitors temporarily present on Ankara Medipol University campuses, for the purpose of ensuring a safe environment 
•    Concerning participants in all kinds of events, courses, development programmes, exhibitions, conferences, workshops and meetings organised by Ankara Medipol University to promote social interaction and development 
•    Concerning Ankara Medipol University graduates, for the purpose of supporting graduates in career planning, monitoring graduate success and building an alumni network 
•    For the purpose of preserving the cultural heritage of Ankara Medipol University, all information resources arising from interaction with the institution's identity are collected, preserved and organised by the University History Archive, in support of research on the university's education, teaching and research activities as well as its social, cultural and academic activities 
•    With the consent of the persons concerned, for the purpose of promoting Ankara Medipol University in its fields of activity and reaching suitable prospective students, staff and academic personnel
 
Transfer of Your Personal Data: 
 
In line with its education, teaching and scientific research objectives, Ankara Medipol University may share your personal data for the following purposes, as set out in Articles 8 and 9 of the KVKK; 
Personal information may be shared with subcontractor companies providing permanent or temporary services within Ankara Medipol University, as well as with third parties under contracts concluded with them, to the extent and for the duration required by the work. When sharing personal data, contracts are concluded that ensure commercial and legal security while safeguarding the rights of individuals. 
In line with the objectives of Ankara Medipol University, personal data belonging to university stakeholders may be shared, with the consent of the persons concerned where necessary, only to the extent required and for as long as needed, within the scope of educational and research collaborations developed with similar institutions operating abroad, educational programmes, staff exchanges, the home countries and diplomatic missions of foreign national employees, joint events and the like. 
 
Method of collecting your personal data: 
 
Your personal data are collected by various methods, in written or electronic form, through our institutional websites, by e-mail or other means, or during various academic or administrative applications. 
Your rights as a data subject: 
Article 11 of the KVKK defines the rights of data subjects over their own information. Accordingly, natural persons whose information is processed by Ankara Medipol University have the right to learn whether their personal data are processed, to obtain information about the content and purpose of the processing of their personal data and whether they are shared within the country or abroad, to request the deletion and/or updating of data for which the reason for processing no longer exists, and to object to processing considered to have resulted to their detriment.

You may send your questions and applications under the KVKK in writing and signed, including your identity, telephone and address details to help us identify and contact you, by registered mail to the address below, submit your application in person, or forward your application with a secure electronic signature to [email protected]. A response will be provided to you free of charge within 30 days. If your request entails a cost, a fee may be charged based on the tariffs determined by the Personal Data Protection Board.
