Late Return and Loss Penalties

In accordance with the General Provisions and Principles;

Materials not returned on time

Article 8:
a) A late fee is charged for materials that are not returned to the library by the due date. For borrowed reserve materials, a late fee is charged for each hour they are overdue. Late fees apply only to days on which the library is open.

b) Late fees cannot be waived. Reference services staff and other library staff have no authority to waive or defer late fees.

c) Patrons who have incurred late fees and have not paid them may not borrow books from the library.

Damaged and lost materials

Article 9:
For lost materials;
a) If the due date of the material has not passed: Price of the material + Processing fee (20% of the amount charged)
b) If the due date of the material has passed: Late fee + Price of the material + Processing fee (20% of the amount charged)
