Dear Stakeholders and Dear Students, 

As the Department of Pharmacognosy, our core vision is to contribute to public health by approaching the unique biodiversity offered by nature with scientific rigor, from raw material to final product, and to equip our students, as the pharmacists of the future, with the competence to make these contributions at the highest level. To this end, our primary priority is for our education and research strategy to make a multifaceted contribution to every area of pharmaceutical services. 

In preparing our students for their professional lives, we place great importance on offering a broad perspective, ranging from the therapeutic potential of essential oils to the reflections of traditional medicine systems in modern medicine. We examine naturally derived raw materials and excipients of critical importance to the pharmaceutical industry, as well as the medicinal and aromatic plants from which they are obtained and the rich phytochemical content of these plants, through a comprehensive academic approach spanning from cultivation processes to rational phytotherapy practices. In particular, we aim to graduate knowledgeable and competent professionals in the proper preparation of medicinal teas, the health-protective roles of nutraceuticals, and the production, standardization and safe use of herbal medicines in line with international standards. 

Blending the heritage offered by nature with scientific discipline, we continue our work with determination to be an academic center that adds value to both our profession and public health.
