Research Areas

Pharmacology, one of the core disciplines of the pharmacy curriculum, is the science that studies drugs, their mechanisms of action and their uses. Pharmacology is a multidisciplinary field closely related to disciplines such as Pharmacognosy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Clinical Pharmacy. The Department of Pharmacology teaches the Pharmacology course to pharmacy students over three semesters.

The research areas of the Department of Pharmacology at Ankara Medipol University Faculty of Pharmacy are as follows:

 1. To investigate pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic parameters and their influence on drug action and on the systems of the body.

 2. To teach the definition and sources of drugs, and to explain the importance of the route of administration, method of application and dosage. In addition, to classify drugs pharmacologically and to examine their mechanisms of action.
