Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation
Message from the Head of Department
Dear students,
Welcome to the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation at Ankara Medipol University. We are delighted and excited to have you with us.
Physiotherapy is an important healthcare profession that helps individuals regain movement and function in cases of illness, injury, ageing or disability, while also aiming to maintain and improve quality of life in healthy individuals. At the heart of this profession lies an in-depth understanding of human movement and its interaction with the body's systems. Today, the rise in health problems associated with physical inactivity makes the critical role of physiotherapists in public health more important with each passing day.
The primary goal of our department is to educate physiotherapists who can adapt to the needs of the age, are committed to ethical values, embrace evidence-based practice, think innovatively and have a well-developed sense of professional responsibility. To this end, we aim to provide our students not only with theoretical knowledge but also with practical skills, critical thinking abilities and strong communication skills. Supported by elective courses, interdisciplinary collaborations, practical training opportunities and up-to-date technologies, our curriculum aims to foster your well-rounded development.
We also place great importance on strengthening our students' professional competence through collaborations, internship opportunities and academic work that enable them to develop themselves on national and international platforms. We aim for our graduates to be equipped to succeed in a wide range of fields, from healthcare institutions to sports settings and from rehabilitation centres to academic careers.
I believe that the four years of education ahead of you will be as instructive and enjoyable as they are intensive. I would like you to know that, together with our academic and administrative staff, we will always be there for you throughout this journey. Embarking on this path with the awareness that movement is an indispensable part of life, I wish you all every success.
Prof. Dr. Gülcan HARPUT
