Participation in SİLMO Istanbul Optical Fair

On 21 November 2025, students and faculty members of the Opticianry Program attended SİLMO Istanbul Optical Fair, one of Türkiye’s largest international optical events. During the fair visit, participants: observed first-hand the latest trends in eyeglass frames, lens technologies and optical devices; met with industry representatives to gain detailed insights into professional career opportunities, product development processes and market dynamics; and had the opportunity to try out new-generation measurement and application devices used in the field of opticianry. Organized under the guidance of Lecturer Tuğba Çevik and Lecturer Muammer Çevik, this technical trip made a significant contribution to broadening our students’ professional vision by allowing them to see industry innovations first-hand. In addition, participants visited the presentations and experience areas organized as part of the fair, gaining comprehensive knowledge about digitalization in the optical industry, advances in production technologies and innovations aimed at improving the customer experience.
