Preventive Oral and Dental Health Education

On 01.12.2025, a "Preventive Oral and Dental Health Education" session was held at Ayşegül Tuna Primary School by the SHMYO Community Contribution Commission, together with Oral and Dental Health Program lecturers Nursel Dündar and Semiha Erkoca and second-year students of the program. The event aimed to strengthen the program students' sense of social responsibility and contribute to their acquisition of academic skills, while also raising awareness of the importance of oral and dental health among the pupils of the school. During the event, the pupils were given theoretical and practical information on the structure of teeth, the relationship between nutrition and dental health, how tooth decay develops, correct brushing techniques, the use of dental floss and interdental brushes, and the factors that cause bad breath. Carried out with the active participation of the pupils, the session proved to be both an instructive and engaging experience.
