Military Service Procedures

Military service procedures for students of our University are carried out by the Department of Student Affairs under Military Service Law No. 7179. Once final registration is complete, all records are automatically transmitted to the Ministry of National Defense through YÖKSİS via web services.

Below is the key information you need to know, depending on your level of study and circumstances:

General Information and Tracking

  • Checking Your Military Service Status: You can check your current military service status at any time on the e-Government (e-Devlet) Askerliğim page.
  • Changes in Status: In cases such as graduation or withdrawal, notifications to the relevant institutions are generally completed within 2 months.
  • Leave of Absence: Students who have suspended their registration may apply to the University to request an extension if their deferment period expires.
  • Double Major Program (ÇAP): Students who have graduated from their major program and are continuing in the Double Major Program must apply to the Department of Student Affairs for their deferment procedures.
  • Draft Evasion Status: The University cannot carry out military service procedures for students who were classified as draft evaders before enrolling at the University. These students must apply in person to the nearest military recruitment office.
  • Citizenship Status: Procedures for students who acquired Turkish citizenship at a later date are carried out after verification, and these students are required to report their citizenship to the military recruitment office in person.

 Associate and Undergraduate Students

  • Deferment Limit: Students' military service may be deferred until the end of the year in which they turn 28.
  • Lateral Transfer: For students transferring from another university, procedures are carried out after the cancellation of the military deferment at their previous institution has been completed.
  • Second University Degree: Graduates of a higher education institution who enroll in a program at the same or a lower level are not granted another military service deferment.
