Writing Center
“The Writing Center operates as an academic support unit dedicated to developing students’ academic writing skills. The Center is designed to meet the specific needs of individual students as well as small groups through structured and guided consultation sessions.
The primary aim of the Writing Center is to support students in developing their academic writing competencies in line with recognized academic standards. Within this scope, the Center provides guidance on the following:
- Paragraph and essay structure
- Academic language use and clarity
- Cohesion and coherence
- Argument development
- Referencing and citation conventions
- Revision and editing strategies
Support is provided for a variety of academic text types, ranging from paragraph assignments to research papers.
Procedures
- Students who wish to receive support from the Writing Center should send an e-mail to [email protected].
- The e-mail should clearly state the student’s full name, department/program, assignment type and the area(s) in which support is requested.
- If available, a draft of the text should be attached to the e-mail.
- Appointments are scheduled based on availability, and confirmation is sent by e-mail.
The consultation process is feedback-oriented; the Center does not rewrite or directly edit students’ texts, but instead provides structured guidance to help students improve their own work.
The Writing Center operates in accordance with the following principles:
- Student-centered support
- Transparency and accessibility
- Commitment to academic integrity
- Feedback-driven development
- Continuous monitoring and improvement
All services are regularly reviewed within the framework of the University’s quality assurance system, and student feedback is incorporated into continuous improvement processes.
The Writing Center aims to cultivate independent, responsible and critically aware academic writers who can effectively manage their own writing processes.”
