Nursing Students Celebrate the Holiday with Nursing Home Residents

Third-year students of the Department of Nursing at our university's Faculty of Health Sciences held a holiday celebration for the residents of the Demetevler Fatma Üçer Nursing Home, Elderly Care and Rehabilitation Center as part of their Public Health Nursing course practicum, under the supervision of the course instructors Assoc. Prof. Ayşe ÇAL and Res. Asst. Doğukan SÖĞÜT. At the nursing home, which is home to 105 residents, the students celebrated the holiday with the older adults by presenting handmade flowers and affirmation messages they had prepared. In doing so, they created lasting memories both for themselves and for the elderly residents.

As part of the practicum, the students also performed comprehensive geriatric assessments of selected elderly individuals to identify their health education needs. Through health education sessions tailored to the needs of older adults, they aimed to help them adopt health behaviors that support their quality of life. We congratulate our students on their valuable efforts and wish them continued success.
