Nicotine- and Tobacco-Free University
Ankara Medipol University adopts the Nicotine- and Tobacco-Free University approach in order to create a healthy and safe learning and working environment across all its campuses. This approach is implemented not merely as a restrictive measure, but as a comprehensive public health policy reinforced through awareness-raising activities, guidance, and support mechanisms.
Implementation and Inspections Regarding Nicotine and Tobacco Products
The use of nicotine and tobacco products on university campuses is generally prohibited, including academic and administrative buildings, open spaces, parking areas, social and sports facilities, university-owned vehicles, and all events organized by the University. Such use is permitted only in the officially designated Nicotine and Tobacco Product Use Areas determined by the University and indicated as Areas 1, 2, and 3 on the map. In order to ensure the effective and sustainable implementation of this policy, regular and unannounced inspections are conducted throughout the campus.

Social Awareness, Cessation Support, and Protection of Public Health
Our University aims to raise social awareness against the directive and manipulative practices of the tobacco and nicotine industry—particularly those targeting young people—and to strengthen a culture of healthy living, social responsibility, and critical awareness.
Individuals who wish to quit the use of nicotine and tobacco products are directed to free professional cessation counseling services provided within the University, located on the 1st floor of the Anafartalar Campus (Extension: +90 312 508 88 14), and are also informed about the national quitline ALO 171. Access to cessation support is considered a significant factor in increasing the likelihood of successful quitting.
All activities of the University, including educational, research, and administrative activities, are protected from any direct or indirect influence of the tobacco industry, and are conducted in accordance with the principles of transparency, independence, and commitment to public health.
