What are the admission requirements?

Students who are enrolled by OSYM and have graduated or are about to graduate from a secondary education institution earn the right to enroll after the Basic Competency Test (TYT), Foreign Language Test (YDT), and Field Specific Competence Test (AYT) within the scope of Higher Education Institution Exam (YKS).
Students who are enrolled by OSYM and have graduated or are about to graduate from undergraduate programs earn the right to enroll after Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS).

What are tuition requirements?

Educational fees will be collected through banks.
Half of the tuition is paid at the beginning of the first semester and the remaining half is paid at the beginning of the spring semester.

Where is the university located?

Our university is in the most central location in Ankara, next to Ankara’s Historical Old Train Station. In the 2020-2021 school year, all our colleges and vocational schools will start teaching here. In the next few years, it is planned to build a greater campus near the center of Ankara.

What are the scholarship opportunities at your university? Under what circumstances are scholarships terminated?

Students at Ankara Medipol University get the right to education with scholarships of 100%, 50% and 25% according to ÖSYS results. Scholarships and discounts provided to students placed in scholarship programs only cover the tuition fee, and are free of charge.

Scholarship is not terminated due to failure, but if the term is extended, you have to pay fee equal to course credit.

What is your student exchange programs and opportunities?

For student exchange opportunities at our university, bilateral agreements with universities abroad are still in progress. Also, the efforts for the Erasmus Exchange Program continue as well.

What are the conditions for Internal and Inter-University Transfers at the university?

Internal and Inter-University Transfers are carried out at Ankara Medipol University in line with the “Internal and Inter-University Transfer Directive” accepted by the University Senate, taking into account the provisions of the YÖK “Regulation on the Principles of Transfer between Associate degree and bachelor’s degree programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor, and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfers”.

Intra-institutional transfer can be done in two ways at our university:

  1. Students can transfer in line with the Additional Article 1 decided by the Turkish Higher Education Council. If ​​the central placement scores of the student in the year they are registered at the university are equal to or higher than the base score of the diploma program that particular year, preparatory class, middle class, and senior students can take an associate degree or higher education, students can apply for horizontal transfer to undergraduate programs. (The associate degree to undergraduate or from undergraduate to associate degree).
  2. A student wishing to transfer within the institution with the condition of success must take and pass all the courses in his/her program before the semester in which he/she wants to transfer, and the Cumulative Grade Point Average must be 2,91 or over out of 4.0 according to the grading system determined by the University.

To be able to apply for the transfer between the diploma programs that accept students with the same level but different central placement score types within the university, the central placement score obtained in the type of score valid for the diploma program that the student wants to pass as of the year he took the central exam must be calculated in the national equivalent of the diploma program he/she wants to pass. It is required that the diploma programs of other universities should not be less than the lowest base score.

To the preparatory class of associate and undergraduate diploma programs, transfers cannot be made to the first and last semesters of associate degree programs, and the first and last two semesters of undergraduate diploma programs.

In the type of transfer where the success condition is sought, it is possible to transfer to a different department.

What are your University's Inter-institutional Transfer Conditions?

Undergraduate transfers are carried out in the Ankara Medipol University “Undergraduate Transfer Directive” accepted by the University Senate, taking into account the provisions of YÖK “Regulation on the Principles of Transfer between Associate Degree and Bachelor’s degree Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfers”. made according to established principles.

 

 Lateral Transfer between Institutions can be done in two ways:

  • According to Additional Directive 1, students who wish to have lateral transfer,

 If the central placement scores of the student in the year they are enrolled are equal to or higher than the base score of the diploma program that year, preparatory class, intermediate and senior students can apply for Lateral transfer to associate or undergraduate programs. (Associate to undergraduate or from undergraduate to associate degree)

In accordance with Additional Directive 1, it is possible to transfer to the same or different department with Lateral Transfer.

According to Additional Article-1, students can transfer only once. However, in accordance with the aforementioned article, students who have made lateral transfers can return to the higher education institution, where they have the right to enroll as a result of OSYS central placement, on the next application date.

 

  • Students who want to have lateral transfer between institutions with the condition of success,

Students who want to have lateral transfer to the University from other higher education institutions in the country or abroad can apply for undergraduate transfer if their GPA is at least 60 out of 100 for the semesters they completed in their own program before the semester they want to transfer.

To the preparatory class of associate and undergraduate diploma programs; Transfers cannot be made to the first and last semesters of associate degree programs, and to the first and last two semesters of undergraduate diploma programs.

Outstanding Achievement Scholarship

In the university placement exam, excluding language scores, the student who achieves outstanding success in the score type of the undergraduate program he / she is placed in, during the standard education and 7 months a year, also valid in the compulsory preparatory class;

  • A monthly education scholarship of 5,000 TL for the top 100 students,
  • A monthly education scholarship of 4,000 TL for students between 101-250,
  • A monthly education scholarship of 3,000 TL for students between 251-500,
  • A monthly education scholarship of 2.000 TL for students between 501-750,
  • A monthly education scholarship of 1,500 TL will be given to students who are between 751-1000.

Students who have previously graduated from any higher education institution with an undergraduate or graduate degree cannot benefit from the scholarship. Scholarships for students who do not attend classes and freeze their registration will be terminated.

Preference Discount

Candidates who have made all their choices from Ankara Medipol University’s associate degree and undergraduate programs before the program they have been placed will be given a preference discount as follows:

  • In addition to the tuition fee that will accrue to them, if they are placed in the 50% Discounted quota of the programs with only Scholarship and 50% Discounted quota, 25% preference discount
  • If they are placed in the 25% Discounted quota of the programs with scholarship, 50% Discount and 25% Discount quota, a 25% preference discount will be added in addition to the tuition fee that will accrue to them.
  • The Preference Discount is valid as long as the students are studying, including the compulsory preparatory class,
  • Preference discount earned in the registered program; The quota for which preference discount is applied in the year of registration will continue in case of Internal Transfer.

Are there language training opportunities abroad?

LANGUAGE EDUCATION ABROAD

With the placement score;

  • Our students who entered the top 100 in the numerical score type and won the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry and Faculty of Pharmacy Turkish and English Programs of our University with full scholarship,
  • Our University will cover the English preparatory education abroad and accommodation expenses of our students who are in the top 100 in the same weight score type and won the Faculty of Law of our University with a full scholarship.
  • In case of problems in going abroad due to Covid-19, our students will be given the opportunity to do internships or participate in projects abroad during their education process.

Do you have social opportunities and student clubs?

There are social spaces our students can benefit at the places reserved for canteen and cafeteria and campus.

The instructions for the student clubs has been prepared. It is possible to start a club based on our students’ demands.

What kind of a service do you provide regarding the student dormitory?

The work for both male and female student dormitories which are going to be parts of our university is in progress. However, as our campus is located in the center of the transportation network, it is very easy to reach the student dormitories in any location in Ankara.

Do you provide job opportunities for the graduates of your school within Ankara Medipol University Health Group?

There is no such an endeavor currently.

What is the price of a meal in the cafeteria going to be? How many meals are going to be served in a day?

The price is 16 TL for a fixed menu containing 4 types of food. (The foods are chosen among 8 types.)

What are the service hours for the library? Is it going to be open at the weekends as well?

It is open between 8:30 – 17:30 during the week. In the exam periods, it is open until 21:00.

Is there going to be a school bus service?

It is not planned to have such a service since our school is located in the city center. However, this situation can change based on the demand.

Are there infrastructures for sport like football field, court and pool?

Our school’s football field is available.

Which social clubs can I attend?

There are several social clubs our students have started already. You are free to apply to start a different club if you wish.

Are you planning to organize school trips?

School trips are organized with the school’s travel club in an authorised manner.
