For students registered in programs where the medium of instruction is Turkish, an exemption exam will be held for compulsory English-2 and English-4 courses offered in undergraduate programs. This exam is NOT applied for students registered in vocational schools.

Students who want to take the exemption exam must apply to their teachers on February, 21-24. The exemption exam is NOT obligatory.

Students who score 60 and above in the exemption exam will be deemed successful and exempted from the relevant course and their grade will be recorded on their transcript.

The exam will be held face-to-face on February, 26. The time and venues of the exam will be announced on February, 25. Students are kindly requested to arrive 30 minutes before the exam.

Exam Content and Scope

The exam consists of 50 multiple choice questions. Below is a brief description of the exam format:

1) Listening: 10 questions (While listening),

2) Reading: 10 questions (2 short texts),

3) Grammar: 15 questions (Mechanical and Contextual/Meaningful question types),

4) Vocabulary: 15 questions (Mechanical and Contextual/Meaningful question types).
